Good morning, Elgin. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 8th of May.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Elgin is inviting residents to share their experiences with walking, biking, and using mobility devices via an online survey—printed surveys are available at Gail Borden Library and The Centre of Elgin—to help shape the city's Active Mobility Plan aimed at improving sidewalks, bike lanes, and accessible pathways. The feedback will guide a plan that builds on existing infrastructure and previous efforts to boost safety and sustainability.  Kane County Chronicle

Two earlier concerts at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. will showcase younger ensembles (tickets cost $27 for most, $22 for seniors, and $14 for students) (their programs include works from 'Sleeping Beauty,' 'Swan Lake,' and Dvořák's Eighth Symphony).  Daily Herald
