- ➤ Elgin is inviting residents to share their experiences with walking, biking, and using mobility devices via an online survey—printed surveys are available at Gail Borden Library and The Centre of Elgin—to help shape the city's Active Mobility Plan aimed at improving sidewalks, bike lanes, and accessible pathways. The feedback will guide a plan that builds on existing infrastructure and previous efforts to boost safety and sustainability. Kane County Chronicle

- ➤ The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras will finish a season-long look at 'Soundscapes' on May 11 at Blizzard Theater, Building H, 1700 Spartan Drive with a final 7 p.m. concert featuring Mussorgsky’s 'Pictures at an Exhibition' and Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto. Two earlier concerts at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. will showcase younger ensembles (tickets cost $27 for most, $22 for seniors, and $14 for students) (their programs include works from 'Sleeping Beauty,' 'Swan Lake,' and Dvořák's Eighth Symphony).
