Good morning, Elgin.

The Tri-Cities Salvation Army in Kane County received two gold coins worth over $5,000, continuing a local Christmas tradition of anonymous gold coin donations.

Elgin's city council unanimously decided to relocate residents of a homeless encampment to a hotel for winter following two fires, with plans to clear and remediate the site.
