- ➤ Elgin officials are asking residents to nominate a healthy evergreen as the city’s official holiday tree in DuPage Court and email full nominations, including four photos and contact details, by Sunday, Oct. 26. Trees must be 30 to 40 feet tall and located within 30 miles, and owners will need a site visit if their tree is a finalist (eligible types include Norway Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce, and fir).
