- ➤ The mayor and city council said they are disheartened by aggressive federal immigration enforcement that creates anxiety for many local residents, workers and visitors. They remain committed to the immigrant community and adopted a resolution asking Congress and the state legislature to ban masked law enforcement officers during immigration actions — noting that the city's police already do not participate in federal immigration enforcement — to help maintain trust.
