- ➤ The reconstruction of Dundee Avenue between Enterprise Street and Slade Avenue is underway after utility relocation work finished. Contractors are installing traffic control devices and changeable message signs + temporary traffic signals, with plans to add four lanes, new sidewalks, ADA-compliant ramp upgrades + additional safety improvements, and the project will complete in October 2026. - ➤ Beginning today, the city’s emergency weather warning sirens are undergoing routine maintenance — each of the 25 sirens will briefly sound for 5 to 10 seconds to test repairs and ensure they work correctly. Residents should view these short activations as routine checks and not as signs of severe weather. City of Elgin
