- ➤ City staff and local organizations joined the Active Mobility Plan Project Team and Community Advisory Committee for a two-hour bike tour in downtown Elgin—visiting the Hemmens Cultural Center, DuPage Court Plaza, Fox River Trail, Gail Borden Public Library, and the Kimball Avenue bridge. Participants noted that bridges and crosswalk detours hinder safe travel and that clearer wayfinding is needed to guide future improvements. City of Elgin

- ➤ On Thursday, a student was taken into ICE custody in a parking lot near the main campus building of Elgin Community College — school officials said the college does not share student immigration status and is focused on maintaining a safe campus, and the incident appeared to be isolated.
