Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office and consumer advocates reached a settlement with Nicor Gas this week to cut its $221 million rate request by $140 million, reducing customers’ average monthly bill increase from $6 to about $2 once regulator approval is given + including union staffing protections through 2027.
