- ➤ The Scandinavian Day Festival returns for its 45th year on Sunday, Sept 7 at Vasa Park in South Elgin and will feature traditional music, dance and food from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Family-friendly activities include an outdoor church service at 10:30 a.m. followed by crafts, face painting, story time and pony rides — with live performances and vendor booths until 5:30 p.m. Daily Herald
