GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Pritzker signed a law that will change road tests for older drivers — effective July 1, drivers aged 79 to 86 will only need a vision test or in-person renewal while family members can report unsafe drivers to prompt medical reviews for license reinstatement. Construction on McLean Boulevard in South Elgin is nearing completion with two lanes scheduled to reopen in early September — and plans for widening Palatine Road are underway with bidding set to begin next year and work starting in spring 2027.
