Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 20th of July.
Good morning, Elgin.
🎭 Culture
State Sen. Cristina Castro helped secure a $200,000 grant for Side Street Studio Arts to fix a long-empty downtown building into a gallery and stage for live shows— funds that will support new art programs.
The money comes from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Tourism Attractions grant program and will bring more art events and visitors downtown— a plan to boost local culture.
