- ➤ Elgin residents can experience the second annual Faeries of the Forest Festival on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Vasa Park in South Elgin from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature free activities such as a Faerie Quest, tea parties, crafts and live music, and tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 18, or are free for seniors and children under 5 — local vendors will also be present in the Woodland market.
