- ➤ Kane County Animal Control will hold a low-cost drive-through rabies vaccination and microchip clinic on Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the KCAC facility on 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva and will host additional events on Sept. 17 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — pet owners must bring an adult and purchase a registration tag. - ➤ A Schaumburg man named Jeremy L. Holt, 26, was arrested Monday and charged with attempted murder in connection with a Sunday party shooting near Elgin at a family event on Gingerwood Lane that injured three people including a 70-year-old man, a 36-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. - ➤ Elgin is offering a free Tree Bank Planting Program that lets residents pick tree types to beautify their yards, improve air quality, plus boost property value.
