- ➤ Authorities said two drivers were injured in a four-car crash with a rollover on Thursday at 4:06 p.m. near Illinois State Route 64 and Motel Road in Sycamore—54-year-old Elgin man Peter J. Nevsimal was cited after his Ford Expedition, which was hauling a trailer, flipped when he did not slow down. Kane County Chronicle
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Elgin will host free Juneteenth events on June 19 and 20 to honor emancipation and celebrate African American culture. The schedule includes a gospel celebration with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet at Gail Borden Public Library (270 N. Grove Ave.) and a live blues and R&B show followed by a family movie night at Wing Park Bandshell (1010 Wing St.). City of Elgin
- ➤ Goodly Creatures returns this summer with a performance of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in local parks, including two shows in Elgin—one at Lords Park east picnic shelter on Aug. 17 at 3 p.m. and one at the Wing Park band shell on Aug. 23 with a rain date on Aug. 24. The theater group, known for making Shakespeare accessible, will also perform in Geneva, Schaumburg, and Algonquin with support from community organizations. Daily Herald
