- ➤ The award-winning Elgin Symphony Orchestra will host four free outdoor concerts this summer for local residents in Elgin, Barrington, and Hoffman Estates. The events occur on June 19 at Gail Borden Public Library at 6 p.m., June 26 at Lords Park at 7 p.m., July 2 in Barrington at 6:30 p.m., and Aug. 7 at Village Green Amphitheater in Hoffman Estates — giving the community a range of live music experiences. - ➤ On Saturday, the third annual Elgin Pride Parade + Festival filled the streets as it began at Riverside Drive and at Prairie then moved down Grove Street to Festival Park to offer a safe, family-friendly experience for all. Daily Herald

- ➤ The Elgin Area Chamber and its economic development program awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to local graduating seniors pursuing higher education, recognizing strong academics and community service.
