- ➤ Elgin is hosting a free outdoor Thursday night concert series from today to Aug. 14 at Wing Park and Lords Park, featuring acts such as the Aurora American Legion Band, DJ sets, and themed nights with food trucks available. - ➤ Kendall’s Kindness and St. Charles Public Library will host their third annual charity 5K walk and donation drive Sunday, June 8 at Corron Elementary School in South Elgin—check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the race running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will honor Kendall’s 25th birthday and collect food donations for the library’s Community Cabinet. - ➤ Hanover Township will start its free Summer Concert Series on Thursday, June 12 at 7 p.m. in Elgin when Fuze Band, a Santana tribute act, performs at Izaak Walton Reserve (899 Jay Street) while food vendors offer treats to help youth programs. Daily Herald

- ➤ Draysta Films, Cheevies Film Productions, and VIP Productions are making the film 'Forget Me Not' as a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease. The film will release June 20 and show at Elgin Community College and McHenry County College — producers with personal ties to the disease helped spark the project — and funds raised will support efforts to fight Alzheimer’s.
