Good morning, Elgin.

Elgin Theatre Company’s new president Jocelyn Adamski is planning a season of fresh and diverse shows to entertain local audiences—she will begin with a mid-September staging of The Tempest and follow with a female-themed play in November while honoring loyal patrons and reaching out to younger theatergoers. Adamski is determined to raise the company’s profile by offering high-quality performances that bring the community together.

After receiving preliminary approval from City Council on May 28, the Hill BMX Track will soon open to the public at the Elgin Sports Complex.

Public riding will be held on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. — $5 fee for residents and $7 fee for nonresidents — while details on the start date are pending.
