- ➤ After years of planning, the Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin will open its $14.4 million expanded facility on Sunday, May 18 with a ribbon-cutting at 2:30 p.m.—the event will feature live entertainment, immersive experiences and an exclusive preview of the upcoming 2025 to 2026 performance season.
