The City Haul Garage Sale will take place this weekend at the Eastside Recreation Center, 1080 E.

Chicago St. in Elgin, offering a wide mix of items including office furniture, costumes, and supplies—cash and card payments are accepted and shoppers who bring a bag will receive a freebie. The event runs Friday, April 25th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Chefs from Elgin restaurants will serve local dishes at Food for Greater Elgin’s Pallet to Palate charity event Monday, April 28 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Centre of Elgin’s Heritage Ballroom—tickets cost $75 and the event will feature live music, raffle prizes, and a cash bar—while the fundraiser aims to help fight food insecurity.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County will open its campgrounds on May 1 for a season that runs through Oct.
