- ➤ The Schepers family thanked police divers and Cold Case Unit detectives on Wednesday after divers found Karen Schepers’ remains 42 years after she went missing from Carpentersville on a night out with friends—divers also recovered her yellow 1980 Toyota Celica license plate, her Class of 1977 Sycamore High tassel and her sapphire birthstone ring. - ➤ Karen Schepers was found after 42 years when Cold Case Unit divers recovered her remains from the Fox River and located her yellow 1980 Toyota Celica on March 24th (which held her personal items like a tassel and sapphire ring) as her family praised the recovery as an incredible miracle. - ➤ After the sudden passing of Risé Jones, founder of Hamilton Wings, Seigle Foundation renewed its funding at last year’s amount without a formal grant submission — a decision made to honor her memory while supporting art programs that help students build leadership and academic skills.
