- ➤ The Kane County 16th Judicial Circuit announced its first National Law Day Essay Contest for spring 2025 high school sophomores and juniors with applications accepted until 4:30 p.m. on April 21 - the contest offers prizes of $500 for first place and $200 for second and third places per group and highlights the theme 'The Constitution's Promise: Out of Many, One.' - ➤ Elgin Area School District U-46 is breaking ground on projects to update its middle schools. The district began work on a 46,000-square-foot addition at Kenyon Woods Middle School in South Elgin and will start a 53,000-square-foot addition at Kimball Middle School on April 7 and build a new 193,000-square-foot middle school in Elgin on April 22 (the first two will be ready in August 2026 and the new school by August 2027).
