- ➤ CASA volunteers help children in foster care by visiting, gathering information and telling the court what each child needs to feel safe—supporting them with hope during tough times. CASA Kane County will hold an information meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley to welcome more volunteers. Daily Herald
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The North Suburban Quilters Guild will host its biannual 'Little Bits of Whimsy' quilt show on May 17—18 at Judson University in Elgin, featuring over 200 quilts from regional artists along with a marketplace and raffle drawing for a handcrafted quilt. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday — admission is $8 for adults and free for children under 12 with free parking and bus access. Daily Herald

- ➤ Two longtime Elgin Christian schools—Westminster Christian School and Harvest Christian Academy—are joining forces to form a new independent school that will launch in August 2026 with a broader curriculum and more activities. The schools will continue normal operations until the end of the 2025—26 school year while a steering team plans details like class sizes, courses, and extracurriculars for the new institution.
